Ealing Southall MP Virendra Sharma officially opens youth esports centre Valhallan

A venue offering interactive gaming for young people which features teamwork and sportsmanship has now opened in Ealing.

Valhallan which offers what it calls “an immersive experience balancing education and competition”, opened on 2 September 2023 near to Gunnersbury Park at 12 Park Parade, London, W3 9BD.

The company was launched by fathers of two, Dr Amit Sra and Vivek Behl and Valhallan is aimed at those aged seven to 17.

The launch of Valhallan in Ealing was officially opened by Ealing Southall MP Virendra Sharma.  Mr Sharma said: “In all my years, I’ve never witnessed such a remarkable level of enthusiasm in one room.”

He added: “It was amazing to see the team’s unwavering commitment to providing children and the local community with a space for enjoyment and education. Valhallan represents a highly valuable asset for both the community and the esports industry.”

Dr Sra who is a medical doctor and certified esports coach said: “Now that we’re up and running, I can’t wait to positively impact young people’s lives across the community. Our arena is set to become a hub where young people can connect, learn and grow – all while nurturing their love of gaming.”

A virtual address by two-time European Esports Championship gold medallist Emma Rose also took place. Ms Rose told those attending: “When I was growing up, having a safe space to connect with friends and acquire new skills free from judgment was super important to me. To see these values embraced in the Valhallan curriculum is truly exceptional.”

Mr Belh, a former teacher added: “Our unique space aims to empower, educate and unite young people through the world of esports. We’re looking forward to welcoming even more members of the community to experience what Valhallan has to offer so please contact us to find out about free taster sessions.”
