Man fighting for life after hit and run collision by bus stop in Southall

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision in Southall which has left a man in his 40s fighting for his life. 

The collision occurred in Uxbridge Road at the junction with Greenford Road at around 5:55am on 15 October 2023.

The man was hit by a car while standing at a bus stop. He is currently in a critical condition at hospital and his next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and enquiries are underway to locate this person.

A man who was believed to be in the car was arrested close to the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating and want to hear from anyone who captured the collision on dash cam, who were in the area around the time of the collision or have any information regarding the driver of the vehicle.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8246 9820 quoting CAD 1496/15Oct. You can also report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
