Padel, one of the fastest growing sports now has its own courts in Southall.
Property developer Berkeley Group has become the first large developer to introduce padel facilities within a residential scheme within its The Green Quarter.
The racket sport, played in doubles, originated in Mexico in 1969 and now has more than 25 million people playing in 90 countries.
The facility is run by UK padel operator Game4Padel and the Parkside Padel Club forms part of the onsite community hub that has been created for The Green Quarter.
Charlotte Berrington, sales and marketing director Berkeley said: “Berkeley is passionate about creating successful places where communities thrive and people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy a great quality of life. The padel courts are a fantastic addition to the array of public amenities already available at The Green Quarter, and a perfect showcase of what we want to deliver and achieve here.”
Ms Berrington added: “We’re creating a new place that, above all, prioritises the well-being of its residents and the local community. I can think of no better way to encourage people to get outside, to get together, and to support their physical and mental health through exercise.”
