Golf players in the capital look set to benefit from Greenford’s North London Golf Academy (NLGA) signing an affiliation with England Golf which is set to bring more people to the game.
NLGA offers players a wide range of training to learn golf as well as improve skills which includes interactive practice bays for both new as well as experienced golfers.
The Academy is also set to further reach out to younger players in the local community with nearby Brent Valley Golf Club. The Club, through its Parakeets programme helps get young people involved in sport who may not have previously had access to golf.
Giulio Merolla, director and head pro at NLGA said: “We are proud to be a part of England Golf’s affiliation scheme and look forward to working in tandem with the game’s governing body to fulfil our aim of making golf more accessible to people across London.”
He added: “In the future, this will be the route for many into golf and sport, as people enjoy the incredible benefits the sport brings to everyone’s social, physical and mental health.”
Matt Draper, club, county and membership director at England Golf commented: “The North London Golf Academy is one of England’s most exciting golf facilities. The innovative technology and interactive way they bring new people to the sport encompasses exactly why we offer the affiliation programme.”
Mr Draper added: “We look forward to working closely with the NLGA to continue to promote and support their excellent work in the local community, whilst continuing to drive participation in all forms of the sport.”
