The preloved free school uniform shop at Ealing Broadway shopping centre is open again from 3 August 2024 to 18 August 2024 to help families across Ealing get essential items ahead of the new autumn term.
More than 1,000 good quality school items were donated including branded and non-branded school uniform, sportswear, footwear and school bags.
The pop-up shop, which is located next to Flying Tiger, is open from 10am – 4pm with visitors allowed to choose up to four items to help prepare their children for going back to school.
The initiative follows the shopping centre’s first ever preloved uniform shop event last summer where 10,242 school items were donated and over ten days,
2.27 tonnes of clothing were prevented from going to landfill.
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway said: “We know how valuable our free school uniform stores are for parents and children in the community, especially while living costs are still high. We really appreciate the local community supporting the initiative and donating hundreds of good quality pre-loved items, not only does this save other families money but it also prevents them going to landfill.”
Councillor Josh Blacker, Ealing Council cabinet member for a fairer start said: “As a parent of a school-age child I know how expensive kitting them out for the next school year can be. And if you have more than one school-age child then that expense just goes through the roof. The free school uniform store is an absolute must visit for families.”
