A very welcome return to Acton Carnival

Thousands of people in west London welcomed the return of the Acton Carnival on Saturday (9 July 2022) by lining nearby streets as the carnival parade made its way to Acton Park and then celebrating in style throughout the afternoon.

Having been cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid, Acton Carnival 2022 delivered with sunny skies, music, food and an amazing atmosphere.

From babies through to senior citizens, all ages, all cultures and all people came together to celebrate, Acton’s great carnival which has been going since 1928.

“It great to be back,” one of the organisers told EALING.NEWS.  “We’ve been waiting three long years to be here again and today was the return.”

Members of the public were also excited to see the return of Acton Carnival.

“It’s so nice to be able to meet up with friends again, enjoy the music and have a dance,” said Samantha who travelled all the way from south London to be with her west London friends. “I’ve been coming for years and Acton Carnival never fails to deliver. Today was special.”

Father of two young children, Sean from west Ealing also enjoyed the day.  “It’s brilliant how they make the carnival for everyone. For children there’s bouncy castles and face painting which my kids love. And for us adults plenty of good drink and lots of music.”
