Reform UK candidate Conrad Lewandowski on why he wants to become councillor for Northolt Mandeville ward

On 10 October 2024, residents in the Northolt Mandeville ward will take part in a by-election to vote for a new ward councillor.

EALING.NEWS has asked all candidates standing 7 questions about who they are, what they hope to deliver and why they want residents to vote for them.

Conrad Lewandowski standing for Reform UK in Northolt Mandeville answers the 7 questions:

Tell us a bit about yourself, your priorities for the ward and why you want to be councillor for Northolt Mandeville?
I’m a local resident and a data analyst by profession. I want to be a councillor for Northolt Mandeville because residents have been let down by an out of touch, complacent Labour council. My priorities are action on fly tipping and anti-social behaviour, and stopping the war on motorists.

What motivates you?
I strongly believe in the values of freedom, aspiration, and patriotism. My grandfather was a Labour councillor and I understand how many traditional Labour voters feel like the party no longer represents these values. At the same time, many traditional Conservatives have been disillusioned by a lack of delivery on their priorities. I believe that Reform UK is the only party offering a real change both locally and nationally.

What is your own personal connection to either Northolt Mandeville or any other part of the borough?
I have lived locally in the borough since 2022 and have experienced many of the issues that matter to residents, such as anti-social behaviour, the impact of Labour’s ULEZ expansion, and a lack of healthcare provision.

What do you consider to be your 3 top political, work or personal achievements and what impact have they had?
I’ve been active in politics since university and have campaigned around the country, most recently for Nigel Farage in Clacton where the enthusiasm was off the charts! In my work life, I’ve worked across teams and key stakeholders to deliver analytical insights. I would bring this critical thinking to the council and be a fresh voice in holding them to account.

What do you consider to be the top 3 challenges Northolt Mandeville faces and how will you as a councillor address them?
There is a rising fear of crime across Ealing borough, especially with anti-social behaviour and fly tipping. I will work with local police to highlight where this is taking place, and support all action required to tackle this problem.

Over 70% of households in the ward have a car or van, yet Labour have declared war on the motorist, with policies such as the ULEZ expansion, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, and “car free” days. Only Reform UK will stand up for ordinary drivers by opposing these policies.

Many residents are concerned about the lack of healthcare provision, such as GP and dentist appointments, as well as social care. I will campaign for better local provision for residents.

What do you love about Northolt Mandeville and the borough of Ealing?
My other grandfather came to England after the Second World War, and I take great pride in Northolt’s strong military tradition, including RAF Northolt and the Polish War Memorial just outside the ward. I also treasure our many green spaces and will work hard to prevent inappropriate development in these special places.

How accessible will you be to Northolt Mandeville residents and how can they get in contact with you now and if elected how will you ensure you are accessible to them in the future?
Residents can email me at northoltreform@protonmail.com or contact me on X @NortholtReform. I will be accessible to residents and if I have the privilege of being elected, I will always listen to their concerns and represent them in the council chamber.
