Ealing driving test centres among lowest with pass rate

Two driving test centres in Ealing have been revealed as having the highest failure rates in London for learners to pass their practical test at.

Greenford test centre on Horsenden Lane North and Southall test centre on Allenby Road both had a pass rate of under 41%.  Greenford is the third lowest in London while Southall is the sixth lowest to pass the practical test in the capital.

In Southall out of 5,643 drivers, only 2,297 drivers passed their practical test, resulting in a pass rate of 40.7% while in Greenford only 3,073 drivers passed out of 7,993 tests with a pass rate of 38.4%, making that the third-lowest and moving Southall into sixth. Belvedere in Bexley had the lowest pass rate at 35.8% with just 1,689 drivers passing out of 4,716 taking the test.

By comparison, Sidcup in Kent was the top place to pass in London with 12,953 tests taking place and 7,437 drivers passing resulting in a pass rate of 57.4%.  Neighbouring borough Harrow was in the top 5 with its test centre in Pinner having a 50.8% success from 15,263 tests taking place and 7,751 passing.

The numbers were crunched by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts from the latest Government data relating to driving tests between April 2024 – June 2024.
