Charity relaunch as NHS celebrates 74 years

A NHS Big Tea Celebration at Clayponds Hospital in south Ealing to mark the 74th anniversary of the NHS has also coincided with the re-launch of West London NHS Charity.

Attending the event at the rehabilitation centre, local MP for Ealing, Southall Virendra Sharma said: “It’s always a delight to meet all the hardworking staff across the NHS. As we celebrate the 74th birthday of our National Health Service, I would like to thank each and every staff member who continues to work so tirelessly to deliver crucial work.”

During the event, the charity unveiled a memorial bench in the name of Emily Martin who worked at the hospital for many years as a healthcare assistant and sadly passed away during the pandemic.

Elizabeth Rantzen, chair of the West London Trust Charity said: “It has been wonderful that the Charity has been able to support so many really worthwhile projects like this, over the last two years for the benefit of our staff and our patients and carers. This is solely because of the immense efforts of individuals to raise funds that has made a real difference to the experiences of so many people – thank you to everyone who has helped.”

Carolyn Regan, CEO also thanked the staff “it’s been a real privilege to be here with you all today to not only celebrate the 74th birthday of the NHS but to witness the community spirt and camaraderie that still shines through. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those continuing to work tirelessly on the front line and behind the scenes.”
