West Ealing community group seeks new board members

A community group that runs the West Ealing Community Library is calling on local residents to get involved and help shape the future of the area.

The West Ealing Community (WEC) Community Interest Company, which manages the library and organises neighbourhood events such as the West Ealing SoundBite Festival and the Christmas Fair, is looking for new board members to join its team.

The organisation says it’s keen to hear from anyone with a passion for West Ealing and an interest in helping make it a better place to live, work and visit. While previous board experience isn’t needed, WEC is especially keen to attract people with skills in finance, legal governance, fundraising, marketing and communications, urban planning, environmental sustainability, or community engagement.

In its announcement, the group said: “We’re looking for passionate, forward-thinking individuals to join the WEC Board and help guide our mission. If you care about building community, sustainability, and local impact in West Ealing — we want to hear from you!”

The volunteer-led organisation plays a key role in supporting local life – from running the community library to promoting small businesses, encouraging greener living, and building stronger neighbourhood connections.

Chair David Highton said the board vacancies offer “a real opportunity to get involved in shaping what happens in West Ealing and to work with others who care about the area’s future.”
