Paedophile “known in Ealing and surrounding areas” found guilty of 31 offences of child sex abuse

A 64-year-old man from Hammersmith with connections to Ealing has been found guilty of 31 offences of child sex abuse.

John Ives of Ancil Close, W6 was found guilty of the offences at Isleworth Crown Court on 2 November 2022.

Specialist police investigated five people who came forward and found a history of Ives’ abuse over a 12 year period.

When interviewed by police, Ives only said “No comment” to all question posed to him.

At Court, he was found guilty of seven offences of indecency with a child, ten offences of indecent assault, twelve offences of indecent assault with a male person and two offences of buggary.

Police are urging any other victims or anyone else who has information to come forward.

PC Shepherd, the officer in charge said: “John Ives is well known in Ealing and surrounding areas and has now been convicted of sexual offences including involving children spanning a number of years. While it is great to let the residents of the area know that he has been brought to justice there may be other people who have been abused by Ives but have not yet had the strength to speak to police – I would urge anyone in that position to make contact immediately. You will be listened to and offered the appropriate support.”

Ives has been remanded awaiting sentencing.
