Greenford’s Stanhope Primary School secures Department For Education funding to be redeveloped

A primary school in Greenford is set to be redeveloped into a modern state of the art school for children as part of the Government’s school rebuilding programme.

Ealing Council has confirmed that it has secured funding from the Department For Education to enable Stanhope Primary School to be rebuilt. This is the second successful rebuild application for the council. It also previously secured funding for Northolt High School which is being designed and which is set to be completed by the end of 2025.

Cabinet member for a fairer start, Councillor Kamaljit Kaur Nagpal, said: “I am very pleased that our bid has secured funding for the new design and rebuild of Stanhope Primary School in Greenford, and delighted that this will continue to provide access to good and sustainable schools in the community and invest in education and the future of our young people.”

Councillor Nagpal added: “This is another success story for schools in our borough, we cannot wait to begin conversations on the design of the new school. The re-design will be an asset to the community, as well as enhance and assist pupils in achieving their greatest potential with access to modern state-of-the art facilities.

“Education is one of our top priorities, and the news comes following the successful bid for Northolt High School, where design plans are underway, and we look forward to completion in September 2025.”

According to the council, as Stanhope Primary School is on a large site, building work will take place away from the current school buildings and there will be no disruption to existing education. The pupils will move to the new school on completion of the project and then the existing school buildings will be demolished.

The council also said plans and discussions for Stanhope Primary School will take place, with the governing board, head and education team at the council, as soon as a contractor has been appointed.
