A2Dominion offers some Christmas cheer to help its most vulnerable customers

Around 200 vulnerable Ealing people living in homes provided by housing association A2Dominion are to get some Christmas cheer with a £20 voucher being given to them. The £20 voucher, which is being provided to 196 people in Ealing, can be spent at Tesco or Sainsbury’s.

In total, A2Dominion is supporting up to 1,000 people across its housing developments with the gift to help towards the additional cost of living this year.

The Christmas Gift Project first started in 2003. In previous years, vulnerable A2Dominion customers were supported with festive food hampers and Christmas gifts, but since the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, delivering vouchers was considered to be safest method to ensure the project can continue.

A2Dominion and more than 10 supporting organisations will be donating the £20,000 towards the scheme. This year donations for the Christmas Gift Project have come from A2Dominion Group, A2Dominion Staff, Pyramid Plus South, Pyramid Plus London, Axis, Travis Perkins, Rose Property, Checkers. Advance Maintenance, TSG, Smarter Services, Mitie and Just Ask.

Julie Brooker, communities partner (social value) for homes & communities at A2Dominion, runs the Christmas Gift Project. She said: “The Christmas Gift Project is so important because it helps to support so many vulnerable people during the festive period.”

Ms Brooker added: “Sadly, many recipients often don’t have family or friends to spend Christmas with, so this gift can help bring some festive joy into their lives and let them know we are thinking of them during this time of year.”

Those who are given the voucher are nominated by A2Dominion housing officers from across southern England with priority to those within care & support, single people, the vulnerable and couples.
