Person killed after being struck by Central Line train at East Acton station

A person has been killed after being struck by a Central Line train at East Acton station just before 6am this morning (3 January 2023).

British Transport Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

In a statement, a BTP spokesperson said: “BTP officers were called to the Westbound platform of the Central line at East Acton Underground Station, London on Tuesday the 3rd January 2023 after a report that a person had been struck by a train. Officers from the BTP and emergency services attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 5.56am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.”

They added: “Medics from the London Ambulance Service also attended but the person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the person, and inform their next of kin. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The Central line between Queensway and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip was closed for much of the morning and has now reopened. Transport for London is still advising travellers to expect some delays while the service returns to normal.
