Free self-defence and safety course for women and girls over 13 offered to Ealing residents

A free eight week self-defence and safety course for women and girls is being offered to Ealing residents by Sev Necati Training, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police and Safer Neighbourhood teams.

The course takes place at Acton’s Reynolds Sports Centre in Gunnersbury Lane and runs every Saturday from 4 February 2023 to 25 March 2023 with a choice of session times of either 11.15am to 1.15pm or 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Sev Necati, who will be teaching the self-defence course said: “This is a great opportunity for women and girls who want to increase their independence and confidence to take advantage of this offer.”

Ms Necati added: “The course will provide practical techniques, regardless of their background, age or ability which will include self-defence training and vital knowledge on street safety. At the end of the course participants will feel empowered, more confident and improve in self-worth.”

One resident who took part last year said: “I’ve never done a course like this before and wanted to know what it was about. It was brilliant, very fun yet professional. Every girl and woman should do it.”

To sign up and secure a place, an £11 deposit is required which will be returned at the end of the course. There are limited spaces.
