Residents across Ealing are set to join the nation from 6 May 2023 to 8 May 2023 with street parties, large park events and more happening to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

A series of special events will be taking place at Walpole Park, Acton and Northala Fields.

Also on the same day, events will be happening in Acton and Northolt. At Acton Park and Northala Fields, between 6pm and 10pm they’ll be food and drink as well as fireworks for residents to enjoy.

Ealing Council leader, Councillor Peter Mason said: “The King’s coronation will be a special moment, and a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together. Communities had such a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee last year. I hope you will take advantage of the chance to do so again this year to mark this historic event.”

As well as the large events happening on coronation day, on bank holiday Monday (8 May 2023), street parties will be taking place across the borough.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, an Ealing Council spokesperson said: “We have had had an excellent response so far, and have had over 130 applications for street parties so far.”

The spokesperson said that for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a total of 176 applications were made for street parties.

To help residents organise a street party for King Charles III Coronation, Ealing Council like many other councils removed the fee to close roads. It has also offered up to £150 per street for organising a party. While, not all local councils are offering any contribution towards putting on a street party, neighbouring borough Hounslow is offering £500 per street for a party in its borough.
