Three men sent to jail after police find 2kg of heroin with an estimated street value of £200,000 inside a car in Ealing

Three men have been sent to jail for a total of 22 years after police found two kilograms of heroin, with an estimated street value of £200,000, hidden inside a car in Ealing.

As well as the Class A drugs, £4,000 in cash was also discovered by cops inside a hydraulic hide.

Jade Broadbelt, 33, of Cricklewood, and Dwayne Campbell, 44, of Norwood who police had identified through investigations into drug supply in north London were inside the car and then arrested and taken into custody.

Following the arrest of the duo, police discovered a link to a third man, Demetri Fairweather, of Wembley where his house was searched and officers found one kilogram of cannabis and £120,000 in cash.

The three men were found guilty at Harrow Crown Court on 5 May 2023 and were were sentenced at the same court on 9 June 2023.

Dwayne Campbell, of Regina Road SE25, was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – namely heroin – and two counts of possessing criminal property.

Jade Broadbelt, of Pinemartin Close NW2, was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – namely heroin – and possession of criminal property.

Demetri Fairweather, of Ealing Road HA0, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Detective Constable Leigh Dooley, who led the investigation said: “Thanks to the perceptiveness of officers, these three men have been prevented from spreading harmful substances around the city, if not further afield, and have not been allowed to benefit from the harm they are causing others.”

DC Dooley added: “We thank the court for the sentences given to these three men and hope that over the coming years given Broadbelt, Fairweather and Campbell reflect on their crimes and realise the damage they have done to so many.”
