48 hour film competition comes to Ealing with winners being screened at 2023 Ealing Film Festival

Creative people in Ealing and across the world are being invited to take part in The Ealing 48,  a competition to make a 5 – 7 minute length film where winners will get it screened at this year’s Ealing Film Festival taking place in November.

The inaugural Action On The Side (AOTS) and Ealing Film Festival (EFF) 48-hour Film Competition runs from 8pm 3 November 2023 to 8pm 5 November 2023. Ealing-based entrants cost £35 while those outside of the borough will pay £40 to enter the competition.

Those entering have 48 hours to create their film where winners will get it screened during the Ealing Film Festival which runs from 20 November 2023 to 26 November 2023.

Organisers of The Ealing 48 said it is aimed at all levels of filmmakers. They said: “The competition is for filmmakers of any ability level, from amateurs to professional –  anyone up for the challenge. Teams can take part from anywhere worldwide, with discounts for Ealing-based teams. The kick-off event (where teams are given their genre and the random elements are announced) is being held at OPEN Ealing.”

They added: “We look forward to welcoming local filmmakers to this exciting event and the providing an amazing opportunity to screen their films at the festival.”

The venues for this year’s festival are The Ealing ProjectActOne CinemaThe Moon & MaybePitzhanger Manor & Gallery and Open Ealing.
