From Friday 2 August we are showing outstanding hand-drawn Kensuke’s Kingdom, voiced by Sally Hawkins, Cillian Murphy and Ken Watanabe, and the breathtaking epic About Dry Grasses from internationally acclaimed master filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Don’t miss the heartwarming action-comedy Thelma with excellent 94-year-old June Squibb in a leading role.
Tuesday 6 August at 11:30 am our Carers & Babies Club will present Kensuke’s Kingdom.
Wednesday 7 August at 4 pm, we are showing the closed-captioned performance of Kensuke’s Kingdom.
Our monthly Board Games Night is also on Wednesday 7 August from 6 pm. Free entry – all enthusiasts and all levels are welcome.
Thursday 8 August at 2 pm offers a modified screening of Kensuke’s Kingdom. Relaxed screenings are weekly autism and dementia-friendly performances designed primarily for our neurodivergent guests. We accept CEA cards and carers and PAs go free.
On Wednesday 14 August at 6 pm, attend the monthly short film open mic night, Sound & Vision. Tickets are only £7 for two hours of short films of all genres and networking drinks at the lounge afterwards.
Thursday 15 August at 6:30 pm, we will host a unique screening in collaboration with Chiswick Book Festival. The multi-Oscar-winning 1981 film Chariots of Fire tells the true story of two British athletes who competed in the 1924 Olympics in Paris. The film will be followed by a live Q&A with the festival director Torin Douglas and Jonathan Legard, the noted sports journalist who has been closely involved in this year’s Paris Olympics as a commentator for the BBC. They will discuss the film and its legacy in what promises to be a fascinating conversation.
Friday 16 August at 7 pm we present a brand-new comedy night – 10 comedians, great vibes and guaranteed good laughs. Free entry.
Wednesday 21 August belongs to our monthly Classic Matinee. We’ll screen the musical comedy High Society (1956) at 2 pm.
Thursday 29 August we host our popular free Open Mic Night. Sign up from 7:30 pm, performances start at 8 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.
