Acton-based Descendants, a charity for young people which explores African and Caribbean culture and which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year has seen members of its committee visiting the House of Commons.
The group which included Denise Charles, chair, Celestina Uzoka, Collette Noel and Margaret Noel, founder members, had a meeting with one of its patrons, Lord Paul Boateng as well as meeting local MP Dr Rupa Huq.
Another person met was Lord Soley, who was previously an MP for Hammersmith and Ealing, Acton and Shepherd’s Bush. Lord Soley has been an active supporter of Descendants and helped them with the Paxton House Project which saw the group visiting Scotland in 2021.
Margaret Noel, founder of Descendants told EALING.NEWS: “It is an honour to be supported by our MPs which included Rupa Huq MP, David Lammy MP, Lord Paul Boateng and Lord Clive Soley who see the value in what we do and shared an aligned vision to care for and educated the future generations”.
