This event, now in its seventh year, is being headlined by Lucy Calcines who made a name for herself on series 9 of the TV show The Voice in 2020. Since then Lucy has amassed a huge following for her music.

Other entertainment on the day includes reggaeton with the Candela Sound System, Angelo Flow, Guala, JDogg, A Nahomy, Georgia Scott and Lisey Tigra.

Salsa music fans will be entertained with the Viva Salsa stage playing salsa, bachata and merengue with Live DJs, percussion and dance shows from Talentos Salsa and Latin Funk Machine.

The day also features special themed areas including Little Brazil and Little Colombia with food pop up stalls and bars.

EALING.NEWS spoke to Nicky Harwood from the organisers to find out more

Is this the first time at Walpole Park and if so, how did you choose Walpole Park for the festival?
This is the first time we’ve been in Walpole Park and our first time in West London. We’ve held events in North, Central and South London and we thought it was about time we sprinkled our Latin magic over West London too! So when Ealing Council approached us and invited us to Walpole Park (and also proved so keen and easy to work with) we were super delighted.

What excites you about holding the festival in Ealing?
The main thing is to showcase the quality Latin music and culture to audiences who might not normally choose to go to a Latin music festival, and to present the whole range of Latin culture to those who might not know the difference between tango or samba or salsa.

We know in Ealing there are many Latin Americans who are very excited about the festival. Also there are people who have been to Latin America and would love to access a bit of that culture and there are also people who think Latin dance is what they see in Strictly or Latin music is Buena Vista Social Club, so the idea is to enlighten, inspire and entertain, whether you know lots about Latin culture or nothing at all. Everyone who comes to the Festival really loves it and we are hoping to bring a bit of that joy to the people of Ealing

What age group is is it from, are there any family things happening on the day?
Literally we have people coming from the earliest of ages from pregnant women and toddlers to some in their 90s. We have some amazing wrinklies who love to dance, even in wheelchairs!

There really is something for everyone, from Alvarez Funk’s high-energy Afro-Cuban, to the folk music and dance of the Andes with Lokandes, and The Candela Sound System and Reggaeton Explosion.

It’s definitely for families and I would definitely recommend taking them early as soon as we open, to witness the Big Dance Extravaganza – a parade of 300 dancers and drummers –  a guaranteed feast for the senses with their kaleidoscope of colour and sound!

Kids should try new foods and can have fun in our authentic immersive experiences –   Little Colombia, where they’ll find Colombian delicacies – pan de bono, empanadas, papas rellenas, coffee and slush puppies – folk dancers and free Colombian salsa lessons and our Amazonia Village – a Brazilian corner of music and dance, Brazilian percussion workshops, Capoeira demonstrations and amazonian face painting.
