After years of waiting for a cinema to replace the former Ealing Empire which closed in 2008, eight-screen Ealing Picturehouse is set to open on 20 October 2023.
The 15-year on/off plans for a cinema opposite Ealing Town Hall, sees the Cineworld-owned cinema chain set to finally open. While the original cinema that housed Ealing Empire is home to bar and restaurant Teatro, the new cinema is next to it.
As well as a cinema, Ealing Picturehouse will also contain a cafe and bar. Tickets for films are now on sale including Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon Annette Bening-starring biopic NYAD and the 3D re-release of Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity.
Clare Binns, managing director of Picturehouse Cinemas said: “Picturehouse is all about showing the best films from around the world: films for everyone, young and old. So to open in Ealing, which has such a rich history of film production, is so exciting – it’s the perfect fit for a company committed to film on the big screen.”
Ms Binns added: “Ealing Picturehouse has been a long time coming, but we’re thrilled that the moment is here and we can open our doors to this wonderful palace of film.”
Tickets for screenings starting from 20 October 2023, can be booked here.
