Fans of Hanwell’s Hootie Music Festival can now start counting down the days before it returns this year in May.
The festival, which started in 2013, will be taking place on 11 May 2024 and the team behind it are now putting the final touches for what promises to be one of the borough’s best days out for residents to enjoy live music, entertainment and more.
In a statement, the Hootie organising team gave a preview of what to expect this year. They said: “The Hootie team will be curating and fully organising our two most iconic and unique venues, the Sandy Park stage and St Mellitus Church both opening earlier than previous years, we will also have the youth stage at Hanwell Library (No Viaduct Meadow this year). Oh and who remembers the Busking Bus? Well, we are very excited that we have a new replacement – the Busking Boat!”
They added: “We are lucky to have so many fantastic pubs and venues in Hanwell that we have curated at all previous Hootie’s. However, this year, the pubs will be curating their own music with some support from the Hootie team. They will be part of the ‘Hootie day’ but will be acting independently. Our aim here is to foster the legacy of the Hootie day experience and keep it as inclusive as we can.”
For musicians and bands who want to perform, the Hootie organisers said: “We will be opening an application process shortly where bands can submit all their music and details for consideration. Full details of this will be posted on our socials in the coming days. We encourage all artists who have sent in emails already to also apply via this process.”
