Ealing’s latest studios for artists and creatives looking for affordable space to create and showcase their work, SET Ealing, gets its official opening on Thursday (13 October 2022).
Having made a name for itself in providing cost effective space for artists and other art related projects in other parts of London including Dalston and Woolwich, SET has now added West Ealing to its list of locations to help creatives find a home for their work to be based in.
Across all its sites, it offers space to over 500 creatives and each SET is located in previously vacant property that it brings to life again to be used for creative purposes and until the owner of the property decides what they want to do next with it.
The new SET based in West Ealing will be having a special free opening event which will provide an insight into some of the many artists and art related projects that will be based there as well as show artists what type of studios they can have.
Among the highlights of the evening which runs from 5pm to 9pm:
Afghan Academy International will host an exhibition showcasing culture and art from Afghanistan along with food.
CoCo will facilitate child-led explorations of the exhibition and studios and open their workshop for children to make their own creations in response, or contrast, to the art they encounter.
There will also be a lecture by artist Houria Niati, free sewing workshop by Jen Yuen, a leather key ring making workshop by Richard Williamson and a live Irish harp and vocal set from Sheila Moylan accompanied by Martin Lau on the flute. Martin will also be performing an experimental electronic soundscape alongside Edin Suljic’s poetry.
SET Ealing is located at: 105-113 St James House, Broadway, London W13 9BE
