The Arts Society Ealing holding special event on The Seine and Impressionism with lecturer Carole Petipher

The Arts Society Ealing is to hold a special morning on 31 May 2023 on the subject of The Seine – River of Light and Home to Impressionism.

The Society, which is part of the umbrella group The Arts Society, hosts regular monthly events at St Barnabas Church Hall in Pitshanger Lane.

The special event looks at the well known river in France was had a great influence on many 19th century French artists such as Renior and was a key part in the the development of Impressionism.

In two lectures, Carole Petipher, will explain about those who influenced the radical new wave of painters and on the founder members of the group later to be known as the Impressionists.

Ms Petipher, has been a guide for twenty years in France leading tours specialising in art and history. She has lived and worked on a number of converted barges and bespoke river vessels on the Seine and Paris Basin.

Those interested are asked to arrive from 10.00am for a 10:30am start and it will finish at 1.15pm.  Cost is £25 and includes the lectures with coffee, tea and biscuits.
