Acton-based childcare agency offers training to become a “flying nanny”

A training course developed by an Acton-based childcare agency to help people become a “flying nanny” is to start in May with an information event about it taking place on Saturday (23 March 2024) from 11am at The Questors Theatre.

Flying Tots was started 10 years ago by Sharon TL Bastien, who worked for BA as long haul cabin crew, initially to provide childcare services for those in the airline industry but has now branched out to offer childcare services for professionals.

Ms Bastien said: “Flying Tots was initially created to provide a nanny service exclusively for pilots and the airline industry. However, due to the demand for our services, over the last 10 years we have helped resolve childcare difficulties for professionals from various industries who require our services when balancing a long shift work schedule with home life.

“At the core of Flying Tots are highly-trained fly nanny chaperones who are committed professionals adept at ensuring children’s well-being in the air and at home.”

Included in the course will be paediatric first aid, chaperone training, core skills in childcare as well as relevant certificates.

Ms Bastien added: “I want to provide all the knowledge, customer service and childcare, online and practical courses in training for each individual interested and those seeking substantial employment once qualified to protect all children and keep them safe from harm.”
