Ealing Business Expo gives back to the community by helping Ealing Wildlife Group and Heartlink

With less than ten days to go before Ealing Business Expo, two local groups are set to benefit from the West London business event – Ealing Wildlife Group and Heartlink.

The Expo, it’s ninth, organised by Carlene Bender from Contact Us Ealing will be the largest in its history and is expected to attract hundreds of entrepreneurs and businesses of all shapes and sizes in Ealing when it takes place on 8 March 2023 at University of West London (UWL).

Ms Bender told EALING.NEWS: “Every year, we give away a free stand to a local charity or community group, and we also donate to them and to the Mayor’s charity whenever the Mayor attends. This year our special exhibitor is Ealing Wildlife Group and we’ll be donating again to Heartlink which is Councillor Midha’s charity.”

Ealing Wildlife Group was founded by vet Sean McCormack in 2016 and promotes nature and wildlife across the borough and runs a number of conservation projects. It also has its own urban nature reserve in Greenford.

Heartlink is a charity providing advice and support to people living with heart conditions, especially those undergoing or recovering from hospital treatment who live in Southall, Greenford, Hanwell, Ealing and across West London.

Ms Bender added: “5% of all exhibitor stand payments will go to the two organisations, so as we’ve collected £4,000 in stand payments, we’ll have £200 to share between Ealing Wildlife Group and Ealing Heartlink. To increase this we are also selling Expo merchandise, in an online shop called Carlene2020. After attending the Expo for free and having such a good time, visitors often feel like they want to give back something, so this is a way they can do that.”

Last month, The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Mohinder Midha personally told businesses across the borough to get involved with Ealing Business Expo.

The Mayor said of Ealing Business Expo 2023: “Save the date and take part by being an exhibitor or visitor. Let’s make Ealing the best borough for business.”

And earlier this month, Expo organisers revealed that Celebrity chef, cookbook author and co-owner of the world renowned Brilliant Restaurant in Southall, Dipna Anand, has been announced as one of the panellists who will be taking part in a International Women’s Day (IWD) panel.

Ms Bender said it’s also a return to University of West London for the Expo: “We are happy to be partnering with University of West London to bring the Ealing Business Expo event back for another year. Expo 2023 will be the ninth edition of this much-loved local event, which was first held here in Ealing in 2015.”

Ms Bender gave a sneak preview of their plans: “Attendees can look forward to the change of venue, with lots of new experiences and access to a fresh pool of contacts at our local university”.

Early exhibitors who booked will also be invited to a VIP Regional Business Brunch Reception provided by the University fine dining Pillars Restaurant.

Ms Bender added: “Attendees will also be able to register and test out some the expert facilities UWL have on offer and attend a range of business development sessions designed to help the local business community thrive, with topics including business scale-up support, funding opportunities, supporting pre-startups and more.”
