Businesses based in Park Royal can hire and travel up to 30 miles per trip in an electric van for free until the end of March 2023.
Under an initiative between Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) and the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham have partnered with the Park Royal Business Group (PRBG) and Zipcar to provide three vans to help local businesses as well as to reduce traffic, congestion and air pollution.
Sarah Spateri, Park Royal Business Group manager said: “Thanks to the support of OPDC and Hammersmith and Fulham Council, I am delighted that PRBG is able to offer businesses the use of three electric vans entirely free of charge. The vans are located in three different Park Royal locations, so there is bound to be a van conveniently located near you. ”
David Lunts, OPDC CEO said: “This initiative offers businesses a fantastic opportunity to try out an electric van for free and experience the benefits it might provide for their business. Cleaner air in Park Royal is a shared commitment for OPDC, Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the PRBG, and I am pleased that OPDC has been able to support this innovative opportunity.”
Councillor Andrew Jones, Hammersmith & Fulham cabinet member for the economy said: “We’re determined to support Hammersmith & Fulham’s businesses by providing them with green, affordable options to deliver their goods – something which is all the more important during the Cost-of-Living crisis. These new electric vans help take away the financial burden of purchasing and maintaining an own vehicle, as well as help clean our local air.”
In order to take up the offer, businesses need to sign up via the Zipcar app.
