Murder investigation launched in Acton

Police have launched an investigation after a 23-year-old up and coming musician was  found dead in the early hours of Thursday (26 January 2023) morning.

Officers were called at 2:15am to reports of a man injured in Rosebank Way, W3 and despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene.

The victim was named by the Evening Standard as Fernando Johnson and who was also known musically as Fdot.

A relative of the victim, when speaking to the Evening Standard said: “He lived on the road where he was stabbed.Two people jumped him and knifed him as her got out of his car. He had just popped out. It’s a tragedy – we are all devastated. He was such a lovely person who will be sadly missed.

The relative added: “This isn’t gang-related, as far as we know. He was doing so well with his music and going places. He was going to be a big name. He was so positive and a lovely person. He had two brothers. No one can believe it.”

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Denby, who is leading the investigation, said: “I am saddened to see the needless death of another young man on our streets and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. At this early stage my team is conducting local enquiries around the scene and are keen to hear from anyone who saw, or has heard, anything that might assist our investigation.”

DCI Denby, added: “At this stage the nature of the injury sustained by the victim is unclear. This will be confirmed in the coming days. In the meantime I urge anyone, who knows anything, to do the right thing and tell police what they know. No matter how small a detail, it could make a difference – please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”

A crime scene remains in place. There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.
