Two shoplifters in Hanwell have been convicted of 23 offences in which hundreds of pounds of goods were taken from shops.
Met Police say they were also responsible for a string of thefts and following an investigation were spotted by Ealing Police and arrested for theft and assault.
In a statement on social media, Ealing Police said: “CCTV captures the two offenders basket dashing through a local supermarket, stealing hundreds of pounds worth of items.
“Officers have been working tirelessly in order to tackle shoplifters and in this particular case, officers gathered a large amount of evidence, including numerous statements, exhibits and CCTV footage. Using their local knowledge of the area, two suspects were identified. Whilst out on patrol, they were spotted and swiftly arrested for theft and assault.”
No details have been given by the police as to the identity of the shoplifters.
