Cross party joint letter to King Charles III from Ealing Council leaders

Councillor Peter Mason, Leader of the Council, Tony Clements, Chief Executive, Councillor Gary Malcolm Leader of the Opposition and Councillor Julian Gallant, Leader of the 2nd Opposition have also written a joint letter to offer sincere condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

It reads:

“We write on behalf of your loyal subjects, the residents of the London Borough of Ealing to offer our sincere condolences to your Majesty and to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, our most beloved Sovereign and Head of the Commonwealth for these past seventy years. In this, the year of the Jubilee of her reign, families and communities came together in thanksgiving for her life of service and in joy and celebration of Her Majesty’s service to and love for our country and the Commonwealth.

Her Majesty’s love and affection for her most beloved and loyal subjects was reflected, in kind, by love, affection and admiration of her people, expressed so often in the adoring crowds at the countless events attended within the Borough during her reign, or in the congregation of neighbours celebrating in the streets Her Majesty’s many jubilees.

The diversity reflected in the towns comprising our Borough reflect the diversity of the Commonwealth so beloved by Her Majesty. By us all, Her Majesty will be remembered as a most cherished and loved Sovereign, the rock of strength and stability for our nation. A Sovereign of great duty and commitment to serving the United Kingdom throughout both test and triumph.

She has been the steady hand that has guided us, over an extraordinary reign spanning many decades. Whilst so much has changed in our country over the last seventy years, she has remained our constant.

On behalf of the Mayor and the Burgesses of the London Borough of Ealing, and of your Majesty’s most dutiful and loyal subjects, we would like to express our deep sorrow for, and our great gratitude to Her Majesty The Queen and for her service to our nation.

We remain, with the profoundest veneration, your Majesty’s most faithful subjects and dutiful servants.”
