Ealing Council’s Community Review Panel (CRP) which provides an advisory role in planning work and discussing issues concerning the borough is looking for new members to join its group.
Among the areas and topics that are discussed as part of the planning and development work are transport, green spaces, housing and the environment.
The panel brings together 24 people from Ealing and is chaired by Daisy Froud, a community engagement strategist.
According to the council, “the panel plays an independent, advisory role in the borough’s planning work, discussing issues including housing, transport, the borough’s green spaces, and the environment. This helps to ensure that new development in the borough is of the highest possible design quality, and meets the needs of people living, working and studying in the area, now and in the future.”
The panel members, who meet around once a month, discuss development proposals and provide their views and the council is looking for local people over the age of 18 to join and commit for at least one year.
The council says that following the discussions, a formal report is prepared and given to the council. It adds that “the panel’s recommendations will be taken into consideration as a formal part of the planning process.”
Councillor Shital Manro, the council’s cabinet member for good growth, said: “We launched the CRP in 2021 and its members play an important role. They provide the council with feedback that helps us to make informed decisions to make the borough a better place to live, work and visit.”
Peter Mason, Leader of Ealing Council, said of the Community Review Panel: “It is a valuable opportunity for residents to get involved in the decisions we take together, and help to shape the future of our seven towns and the places that make them special. I warmly encourage you to come forward and get involved in making the borough, our home, a better place for everyone.”
