Mayor of Ealing writes letter to King Charles III

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Mohinder Midha has written to His Majesty King Charles III, on behalf of all residents of Ealing to offer sincere condolences on the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

Councillor Midha writes:

“I write on behalf of all residents of Ealing to offer our sincere condolences to yourself and members of your family on the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

“I hope that at this incredibly sad time you find some comfort in knowing that you are in the thoughts of Ealing’s residents.

“Queen Elizabeth II was an outstanding public servant who gave her life to the service of the Country and the Commonwealth. Her commitment and dedication to public service, right until the end of her long life, will remain an inspiration for all those that lived under her reign and for generations to come.

“I know that the residents of Ealing particularly enjoyed celebrating her platinum jubilee earlier this year where over 150 street parties were held across the borough. It was a truly joyful occasion, in stark contrast with the sorrow we are all now feeling for her passing.

“On behalf of Ealing Council and the residents of Ealing, I would like to express my deep sorrow, but also gratitude for all that Queen Elizabeth did for our country.

“I have the honour to be Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant.”
