Ealing Council is offering residents up to £150 to host street parties to mark the Coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6 May 2023 as well as waiving the fee to close the street from traffic.
The move follows last year’s Queen Platinum Jubilee celebrations in which thousands of Ealing residents held events all around the borough to mark the monarch’s platinum jubilee.
As well as the coronation on 6 May 2023, celebrations will also takes place on Sunday 7 May 2023 and also on the bank holiday Monday 8 May 2023.
Ealing Council leader, Councillor Peter Mason said: “The King’s coronation will be a special moment, and a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together. There is a role for everyone, even if you haven’t been involved in something like this before. Neighbours and communities had such a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee last year, I hope residents take advantage of the chance to do so again this year to mark this historic event.”
Residents have until 7 April 2023 to apply for up to £150 to put on an event by filling in a form. Click here to apply.
