Elthorne Park students score great A level and BTEC exam results at Lioness Chloe Kelly’s former school

Hanwell’s Elthorne Park High School, which counts Lioness’ Chloe Kelly as an alumni, is celebrating a year of achievement for its A level and BTEC Level 3 students who have made great progress in their academic lives with better results this year than last.

Despite much widely-reported decrease in attainment nationally, the local A level students at Elthorne Park improved on last year’s success, with 35% of results at A*-A grade and 64% at A*-B.

The average points score for BTEC Level 3 students was 37, equivalent to Distinction +.

Headteacher Eliot Wong said he attributed the students success to their “resilience and hard work”, and also thanked staff for their “dedication in supporting the students both academically and pastorally”.

156 students sat examinations with 22 A level students achieving all A grades or higher.

Among the top performers were Owen Parfitt-Ford, who achieved A*A*A*A* (with grade A in his Extended Project Qualification), Robin Alsop, who scored A*A*A*A and Maxi Steel, who secured A*A*A*. Three BTEC Level 3 students, Sonny West, Holly Johnson and Artie O’Keefe achieved D*D*D*.

Following the results the students are off to embark on degree courses and apprenticeships across the UK.

Robin Alsop (mathematics) and Noah Stewart (history and politics) will begin degree courses at the University of Cambridge while Sara Ospina will begin a dentistry degree at the University of Birmingham. Sonny West, BTEC Sport student will join the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB), studying Football Coaching & Talent Development.

In a statement, the school said: “We wish all of our Year 13 students every success in their next steps in education and employment, and look forward to hearing about their achievements in the future.”
