To celebrate and mark Colleges Week which takes place this week (26 February 2024 – 1 March 2024), Ealing Central & Acton MP Dr Rupa Huq has visited Ealing Green College.
At the college, previously known as Ealing Green High School, Ealing Grammar and Ealing County School, Dr Huq met over 100 students from science, IT, creative media production, ESOL and foundation learning courses where she spoke of the work MPs do and how Parliament works.
Ealing Green College is part of West London College which also operates Southall Community College and Hammersmith & Fulham College.
Sajada Sajid, assistant principal at West London College said: “We were delighted that Rupa Huq MP was able to join our students to highlight her commitment to FE Colleges as part of Colleges Week, as well as to encourage our students to become active citizens by getting involved in the democratic process.”
Dr Huq said: “FE Colleges such as West London College are the backbone of our local communities supporting education, skills training and local businesses. We need to ensure they gain the recognition they deserve and are appropriately funded by Government.”
