New head for Notting Hill & Ealing High School

Notting Hill & Ealing High School (NHEHS) has appointed a new head to lead the school from the summer team following Matthew Shoults who is leaving to become principal at Surbiton High School in January 2025.

Allison Saunders, currently senior deputy head at St Catherine’s, an independent girls’ school in Twickenham, is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and previously held roles at  St Helen’s in Northwood and Haberdashers’ Girls’ School in Elstree.

Rebecca Irwin, currently senior deputy head will become acting head for the school during the spring term.

In a statement, NHEHS said: “She is a highly experienced and dedicated senior leader with an accomplished track record of developing and implementing ambitious and innovative solutions, delivered in the best interests of her students.”

Mrs Saunders said: “It is an honour and privilege to be appointed head of Notting Hill & Ealing High School following Matthew’s tenure. I am enormously excited to be joining the school and doing all I can to continue developing the school’s outstanding reputation.”

She added: “I look forward to working in collaboration with the school community, to enable our students to strive for ambitious goals and fearlessly embrace challenge and opportunity in order to fulfil their full potential.”
