Parents and students going to Northolt High School have been told that from 1 September 2025, its name will change to Islip Manor High School following an “engagement process” with school stakeholders.
The name change comes as a new school building is being constructed at its site on Eastcote Lane in Northolt.
In a letter to parents, headteacher Marion Budd said: “After careful consideration and input from our school and wider community, we are delighted to announce that we will officially be renaming our school as Islip Manor High School from 1st September 2025.
“With the construction of our new school building, enhancement of the curriculum and developments of our enrichment programme and partnerships, the governing body and senior leadership team believe this is the perfect time to relaunch our vision, name and brand.”
The name change has also seen locals take to social media to raise their concerns.
One person on Facebook said: “It’s not on the Islip Manor estate. Call it Racecourse high if anything” while another added: “Why would they do that. Surely Northolt High in the middle of Northolt just makes sense”.
The letter to parents from headteacher Marion Budd added: “We would like to thank all of you who contributed during the engagement process by casting votes. Your involvement has been invaluable and highlights the strength and unity of our school community.”
