Springhallow celebrates achievements at annual fundraising fair

An autism college in Greenford, Springhallow Post 16, has held its annual fundraising fair which raised over £1,000 for its Friends of Springhallow charity.

More than 400 people attended the Springhallow Post 16 summer fundraising fair which saw parents, students and staff along with locals celebrating the achievements of the college as well as thanking local businesses for their support.

Deputy Lieutenant of Ealing Richard Korniki presented awards to two organisations supporting Springhallow Post 16.

Hobbycraft Westway won ‘Employer of the year’ and Toureen Contractors won ‘Contributor of the year’.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Katie Morley, assistant head teacher said: “Hobby Craft supported students with our mentorship day, work experience week plus additional work experience placements throughout the year as well as donations for our summer fair. Toureen fundraise at their office doing cake sales and Xmas jumper day.”

Other dignitaries at the event included local Councillor Aysha Raza.

Over the last 18 months, the college has been raising funds for a new minibus for its student and among the highlights of the day was unveiling the new recently purchased vehicle.

Ms Morley added: “We have worked hard for 18 months with many organisations to fund raise for our new minibus to take our students in the community. It was exciting to showcase the new purchase to visitors.”
