Students learn financial lessons from Ealing’s Metro Bank

Ealing Metro Bank has hosted a financial education workshop to 15 special needs students aged between 16 and 17 to help raise better financial awareness among students.

The Money Zone workshop is a series of financial education lessons that the bank offers for free to schools and their students either online or in a branch.

Across the country, Money Zone has been delivered to over 2,500 schools and 250,000 students.

The workshop covers four key financial areas – saving, budgeting, banking and culminates when the students get a tour of the bank which includes seeing how its coin deposit Magic Money Machine works as well as visiting the bank’s vault.

The students were part of Business Education Events which organised the visit as part of a multi week finance programme which included the visit to Ealing Metro Bank.

Ealing Metro Bank assistant store manager Kamran Beglane and colleague Jasleen Kaur hosted the student guests. Mr Beglane said: “As a community bank, we are committed to our free financial education programme.”

He added: “Jasleen and I took the students through the store and answered their questions about the different types of bank accounts as well as how to use the ATM and the Magic Money Machine.”
