Following the opening of Pear Tree Park in Perivale, Ealing Parks Foundation has revealed the responses to its survey of locals on what they wish to see in the park.
Pear Tree Park is located on the former Perivale Park Golf Course which Ealing Council closed in June 2024 after 100 years.
The Foundation said it will be sharing the results with Ealing Council to shape the council’s future plans for the park.
According to Ealing Parks Foundation it had 673 responses online and in-person to the survey.
Among the top responses were:
- 27% of the responses asking for a cafe, toilets, and drinking water facilities.
- More than 1 in 5 participants wanting to see designated areas to encourage wildlife.
- 10% of the responses highlighted the need for more children’s play areas.
- 8% of respondents requested a dedicated area to provide a safe and controlled environment for dogs to exercise and socialise with other dogs.
Among other ideas suggested include a labyrinth, large chess set, climbing area and geo-location games.
Sonja Garsvo, chair of Ealing Parks Foundation said: “This short survey clearly indicates that Ealing park users value our local parks and are keen to see continuing improvements in the facilities offered for recreation and well-being.”
Ms Garsco added: “It is also very encouraging to see how many park users are interested in keeping park spaces green and have an interest in local wildlife. “As an independent charity we are committed to working with local groups to try to enhance parks for wellbeing, bio-diversity and of course fun!”
