A new branch of Sainsbury’s Local has opened in Hanwell on Uxbridge Road.
The new branch located at 144-156 Uxbridge Road is less than 60 seconds away from a previous Sainsbury’s that was on Uxbridge Road in the early to mid 1900s at 124 Uxbridge Road and which is now a Polish grocery store.
The new store is open 7am and 10pm every day.
Sainsbury’s says that it will play an active role in the local community. In a statement, the retailer said: “Through Sainsbury’s partnership with Neighbourly, the new Local will work with local food donation partners to help ensure that any surplus food from the store will go to those who need it most.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s property director said: “I’m delighted that we have now opened our second new Sainsbury’s store of the week, this time for customers in west London. We’ve invested in Hanwell to create a fresh, modern store for the town centre, creating new jobs. I hope the local community will enjoy the convenience and choice their new Sainsbury’s Local will bring and I look forward to hearing what they think.”
Kuldip Sandher, Sainsbury’s Hanwell Local store manager said: “It’s been great to cut the ribbon and open our new Sainsbury’s Local today after weeks of hard work to get everything ready to welcome customers for the first time. We’re really pleased with our new store and my team and I are excited to help and serve the people of Hanwell for years to come.”
