A new state of the art community diagnostic centre (CDC) has opened at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust’s (LNWH) Ealing Hospital.
The Ealing CDC £30m provides a full range of diagnostic tests including CT, MRI and ultrasound scans and is part of a national network funded by the Government to address the backlog of patients that built up during the pandemic.
Ealing CDC will be focusing on “four priority pathways” by checking on symptoms including breathlessness, asthma, back and chest pain and is the third and largest CDC to open in North-West London. The other two are in Wembley and Willesden.
The first patient to use Ealing CDC was Janice Benfield. She said: “I’d rather not have fallen but my experience at the hospital has been wonderful and the new centre is so clean and modern.”
Pippa Nightingale, chief executive at LNWH Trust, said: “The service will provide a quick reliable service for our patients and help east pressure on hospital services by allowing GPs to make direct referrals.”
