Nominations open for LNWH Trust awards to recognise hospital heroes

Nominations are now open for the ninth London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust’s 2024 Staff Excellence Awards.

The Trust, which runs Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal is inviting members of the public to let them know their “hospital hero” for its 2024 Staff Excellence Awards.

Last year, saw more than 600 staff attend the special ceremony at Wembley Stadium which attracted more than 900 nominations including patients and members of the public naming staff for the shortlist.

Pippa Nightingale, CEO of LNWH said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase the work hospital staff do and would encourage colleagues and the public to support them. The more information you can provide when nominating someone the better and we look forward to beating the record number of applications we received last year. There is a lot of great work going so let’s share and celebrate that.”

As well as Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital, the Trust also operates Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow and St Mark’s in Harrow.

There are 12 award categories:

  • Divisional awards – one for each of our five clinical divisions
  • Support and corporate services award
  • Quality and improvement award
  • Beryl Carr award for volunteer of the year
  • Fundraiser of the year
  • Learner of the year
  • Team of the year
  • Lifetime achievement award

Sandy Young, a critical theatres manager, who won the surgical division award last year said: “It was a complete surprise to win and a real honour. It is important to cast your vote to show our colleagues that they are valuable and significant to you.”

Nominations are open until 31 May 2024 and can be made by anyone including patients, relatives and staff.  The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges at a special ceremony at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.
