West London NHS Trust launches new five year strategy

Tackling local health inequalities in Ealing is one of the key priorities for West London NHS Trust’s new five year strategy which has been published.

The Trust, which provides a range of children and adult care and support including mental health and community services to residents in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, as well as running the high secure Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire, has devised the strategy following talking to patients, staff and other stakeholders.

It says another priority of the 2023-2028 strategy aims to raise standards by being an “outstanding provider of integrated care and a key partner in the North West London Integrated Care System.”

Carolyn Regan, West London NHS Trust chief executive said: “The Trust’s new five-year strategy marks an important new chapter for us. It has been developed in response to the changing health needs of the local communities. The five strategic priorities will benefit the 800,000 population we serve locally and the 4175 staff who work here. It is based on the ideas and feedback we’ve gathered from the many patients, service users, carers and staff who we engaged with over several months”.

Ms Regan added: “Tackling health inequalities is the key theme that will be running through our work over the next five years. The work underpinning the priorities is already underway but we can’t do it on our own so please get involved, tell us what you think and help play your part in improving the quality of care we provide”.

Elizabeth Rantzen, recently appointed interim chair at the Trust added: “We’re very proud to launch our new strategy. The five chosen priorities were developed following extensive engagement and consultation. They will improve the health and wellbeing of our communities and will assist with our ambition of being an outstanding provider of integrated care and a key partner across the health and care system”.
