West London NHS Trust offers new Ealing Crisis Centre at St Bernards

A new health facility located at St Bernard’s in Southall which offers psychological therapies and support to residents across Ealing has been launched by West London NHS Trust.

The Ealing Crisis Centre (ECC) aims to offer timely care and help to people facing mental health crisis and offers an alternative crisis intervention to people who would usually have to wait hours in emergency departments for the help they need.

According to West London NHS Trust, the service is currently running as a pilot and is limited to five patients at a time and operating 24 hours a day.

People are supported by a team of doctors, nurses, health professionals and support workers in what it calls a “more therapeutic environment compared to that currently offered in busy emergency departments (A&E)”.

Dr Vincent Law, clinical director for psychological medicine services at West London NHS Trust said: “The launch of the Ealing Crisis Centre demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing accessible and high-quality mental health support. We understand the challenges faced by individuals in our community and the ECC will make a significant impact by offering a range of services to meet those needs.”
