Housing association giant A2Dominion has partnered with food charity The Felix Project to support Ealing residents facing food poverty by teaming up and delivering 1,500 meals to support local residents in Ealing during the festive holidays.
Earlier in the week on 20 December 2023 at the Orchard Cafe on the Green Man Lane estate in West Ealing with volunteers helped to deliver, pack and distribute 750kg worth of food packages, including fresh fruit and vegetables, pre-prepared meals and savoury snacks.
Two further events to help local people are to take place on 27 December 2023 and another on 3 January 2024.
During 2023, The Felix Project was nominated as A2Dominion’s charity of the year.
As well as food being given, A2Dominion also distributed clothes, books, and hygiene products to those in need.
Dele Ryder, partnership and fundraising manager at A2Dominion said: “Our partnership with The Felix Project has helped us to support so many people this year and we are incredibly proud of everyone who has taken part. We know times remain tough for so many people and we will do everything we can to continue to raise awareness and support future projects for those who need it most.”
Damien Conrad, community partnerships manager at The Felix Project said: “The Felix Project can only do what we do with the help of partners like A2Dominion. The dedication and hard work of the team in setting up Christmas markets to ensure that this great food reached residents was fantastic. But ultimately, we would all rather that we lived in a world where there was no need to hand out food, so it was reassuring to see how visitors to the project were being offered support, business advice and even funding for training that will help them back into employment”
A2Dominion will be working with the The Felix Project from 11am on 27 December 2023 at the Orchard Cafe, Singapore Road, London, W13 0EP. A third event is planned at the same venue on 3 January 2024.
