A40 closed westbound earlier today Piccadilly line suspended in Park Royal area after car comes off road and lands on train track killing one person

The A40 from Acton heading west was closed and the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Uxbridge  was suspended following two cars colliding near Park Royal Underground Station in the early hours of this morning in which one person has died (22 August 2022).

Police were called to an incident near Park Royal Underground Station at 3:48am which they attended with London Ambulance where two cars, a Range Rover and a Tesla, had been involved in a collision and the Range Rover had left the road and gone onto the train tracks.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, a female occupant in her 20s of the Range Rover died at the scene.

A man in his 50s, who is believed to have been with the stationary Tesla, was treated for injuries that have been assessed as non life-threatening.

The Range Rover driver, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital where his condition is critical. The condition of a second Range Rover passenger, a woman in her 20s, is not life-threatening,

The A40 and the Piccadilly Line in the remained closed for a considerable period of time during the day
