London’s largest food distribution charity, The Felix Project, has moved its West London depot to a newly refurbished unit at SEGRO Park Acton, which it says will help boost its capacity to tackle hunger and food waste across the capital.
The 20,882 sq ft facility includes a redesigned car park to fit more vehicles, extra EV charging points, a new roof, an expanded first-floor office and an outdoor seating area for staff wellbeing.
The Acton site joins The Felix Project’s existing facilities at SEGRO Park Deptford, SEGRO Park Greenford Central and the Great Cambridge Industrial Estate, marking the charity’s fifth partnership with the property developer.
Joseph Durrant, West London depot manager at The Felix Project, said: “We are hugely grateful to SEGRO for its support. This new unit in Acton represents a huge increase in size compared to our previous site in Park Royal. The freezer space is now triple the size and the chiller space has quadrupled. This means we will be able to rescue and store significantly more food and in turn help even more organisations who are feeding those facing food insecurity across West London.”
Ben Gomez-Baldwin, director, London at SEGRO, said: “We are proud to be supporting The Felix Project’s expansion and understand the urgency and importance of its mission. This is the charity’s fifth unit with SEGRO, demonstrating a clear reflection of a strong, long-term partnership. We are confident that the additional space will meaningfully strengthen the charity’s capacity and impact.”
