A care home in Acton which offers residential and dementia care has been recognised as one of the top 20 in London in the annual Carehome.co.uk Awards.
The awards, which cover 15 February 2023 – 15 February 2024, placed Torkington House in Creswick Road among the best in London with a 9.9 rating.
Torkington House is run by Greensleeves Care, a not-for-profit care provider which operates 28 homes across England.
Margaret Siriwardena, home manager at Torkington House said: “We are thrilled to be named among the Top 20 care homes in London. Not only for the recognition itself, but for the fact that the award is the direct result of feedback from our residents, their families and friends. We are so proud to be a part of the community here in Acton, and we are pleased to accept this award as a testament to the high quality of care we strive to deliver every day.”
Among the reviews given, family of residents have said: “My sister has lost her mobility, hence in the care home. She is well looked after, participates in activities, knows the staff well.”
While another commented: “My nan has been in the care of the wonderful staff at Torkington House for just over a year now. She is happy, healthy, and very well looked after, and this is all you can ask for.”
According to Greensleeves, due to its operational ethos, when residents join it becomes their home for life, so that if the resident funds run out, it says it will never ask them to leave.
